Geometry of Stillness

from $650.00

Made in the cool morning light of Tulum, this photograph captures a space designed to slow the body and quiet the eye. From the outset, it offers a sense of refuge: an image that brings stillness, clarity, and calm into an interior through restraint rather than drama.

Here, architecture settles into the landscape with intention. Curved walls, carved stone, and softened edges form a sequence of measured geometric shapes, guiding the eye through light and shadow rather than spectacle. Nothing competes, and nothing demands attention.

At the centre, a pool of still water anchors the composition, reflecting light upward and reinforcing the pause built into the structure itself. Pale surfaces, natural textures, and restrained touches of greenery create depth without visual noise, allowing the space to feel sculptural, calm, and deeply intentional.

This work explores proportion and presence - the ability of built spaces to hold silence, and the way simplicity can feel expansive rather than empty. At scale, it introduces architectural rhythm, visual balance, and a grounded sense of calm within a room.

  • This artwork is released in a limited edition of 100 and is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity noting its individual edition number. As editions progress, prices may increase as the edition approaches completion.

  • Each work is available in three architectural scales. The right size depends on how you want the work to live within your space.

    Signature Large (60 × 90 cm)
Best suited to more intimate spaces, layered walls, and quieter moments. Ideal for bedrooms, studies, hallways, and areas where the work is discovered rather than announced.

    Statement (80 × 120 cm)
Designed to shape a room. This scale holds visual weight without overwhelming and is often chosen for living spaces, dining rooms, and primary walls.

    Collector (100 × 150 cm)
Architectural scale. A commanding work intended to anchor large or open-plan interiors, where presence, horizon, and proportion can fully unfold.

Each artwork is released as part of a single edition of 100. Scale affects presence, not rarity.

  • Each work is custom made to order in Australia. Our large scale photographs are printed using archival pigment inks on a museum-grade 310gsm cotton fine art paper with a smooth matte finish. This premium 100% cotton paper is chosen for its soft surface, rich tonal depth, crisp detail, and long-term stability, allowing the image to retain clarity, colour integrity, and presence over time.

Works are presented with a 5cm white border as part of the intended framing. Full-bleed prints can be arranged on request for specific project requirements.

Each work is made to order specifically for you. As a result, all orders are final once placed.

  • Framing
Framed presentation is the artist’s intended way to experience the work. Frames are available in Black, White, or Tasmanian Oak. Each piece is professionally framed, sealed, and arrives ready to hang with ‘D-hooks’ on either side.

    Unframed Works
Unframed editions are supplied rolled and should be handled with care. We recommend professional framing using archival methods, and handling with clean hands or cotton gloves to protect the print surface.

For custom requirements, please contact studio@nikkimalvar.com.

  • AUSTRALIA
Complimentary shipping within Australia is included with each order. As each work is made to order, please allow 10–12 business days for production, in addition to delivery time. All artworks are carefully packed to ensure safe transport.

    INTERNATIONAL
At present, framed works are only available for delivery within Australia. For international collectors, unframed editions can be shipped in a protective tube. Please contact studio@nikkimalvar.com to discuss options.

  • Limited edition artworks are reserved for collectors and residential settings. A separate selection of non-editioned works from Nikki’s archive is available for volume licensing and project-based use across hospitality and commercial environments.

Interior designers, stylists, and project teams are invited to get in touch to discuss artwork selection, sizing, and project requirements. Please contact studio@nikkimalvar.com with details of your project.
